Black Scorpion Tongue is considered fairly uncommon still. The plant has purple pods that then ripen to red. Some pods will show black stripes or blotches on them when exposed to intense sunlight when they ripen to red. The plants grow tall compared to other pepper plants but have a large number of pods. The plant has green foliage and in our case some pods had corking on them. The plant has amazing flowers as seen in our photos. Some of our plants exhibited corking as well.
